| Statement from the Founder
"My experience with henna body art has changed my life. When I first encountered this magical art form in 1994, I was drawn to it by its histort and by its lack of permenancy. Henna has enriched the lives of women for over 5,000 years. It is an art that has been handed down from mother to daughter for countless generations. Its healing properties have served the needs of communities for just as long. At the same time, the nature of henna is transient. A pattern that is drawn with henna, normally by hand, vanishes completely in less than one month. By virtue of looking just a little different every day, henna reminds me to pay attention to the subtle changes in nature, as well as the changes within myself. It keeps me in the moment and at harmony with that fast moving world around me." Katya Madrid |
